"Wirreanda" is an Aboriginal name which when translated means, "Place where wallabies live under tall trees". The school is set in a natural environment and has the reputation for the provision of a balanced educational curriculum in key learning areas. At Wirreanda, children will be given the opportunity to contribute to the best of their ability, to grow and develop to their potential. Wirreanda emphasises excellence, equity, and the development of a sense of personal worth, mutual respect and responsibility. One of my favourite things about Wirreanda public school is the friendly and approachable staff, they create a warm, welcoming environment that makes a big difference, for both the students and parents. I also love how involved parents can be, whether it's through being asked to contribute to certain school decisions or helping out in the classroom and at school events. It gives you a real sense of community and connection with your children’s education.
I always feel warm and welcome walking through the school gates, and in return my children do too, and that’s more then I could of ever asked for when it came time to send my kids to school. I always know they’re going to have a great day, and when they do have a rare bad day like we all can, there is always a member of staff there to nurture and support them. As a parent I couldn’t ask for more than that.

Wirreanda Public School has been such a wonderful place for our family. Our eldest had the honour of being school captain, and all of our girls have been given amazing opportunities in sport, dance and academics. The dedicated teaching staff go above and beyond to support and encourage every child, and we are so grateful to be part of this school community.
